Surely once in the history of the world a courtship occurred through a drainpipe. And surely several tiny helium balloons were tied together in a chain to carry the ring up. And surely, if it rained that day, the rain was light and clean.

what does it mean that I don't believe it and believe it all at once? sort of like the secret that you know is a lie, but you keep it anyway, and the way one doesn't want to know the exact day you die, because until then you might never. it happened now, I think, when you wrote it and when it was read.

Desire has its own world, realer to us than the phenomenal world it intersects because better known, changing even faster than that does.

I think probably one of the sweetest things is realizing that this world of desire & possibility isn't one we live in alone. There are people there, sharing the same space without realizing it, so even if the dream was never -real-, it seems not impossible it was dreamed before. You could say human interactions are often built on the sheer pleasure of shared worlds of desire.

It seems unreal somehow, even though the phenomenal world is probably more theoretical than the other one, in a number of ways.
