I agree completely. For plot-heavy things it definitely helps to have forgotten the plot: rewatching past Lost seasons on DVD for missed clues is a tedious experience.

Lot 49 became awesome even on my own terms, but I know what you mean. We taught Flannery O'Connor that term too and she was similarly impressive. Though I think with her you can lose the fun when you get too deep into her churchy ideas.
