Worries:

1. That I fall almost always into either incomprehensible gnomisms or "I am the Borax, I speak for the obvious"-level plainness. I love the middle way, pulling listening a bit deeper and wider with just the right risks, small, well-placed movements of wit or surprise, or sudden harbor openings of metaphor that people have just enough time to follow out and get used to before something new blocks them from view. I love it and I know I fail at it. Several of you do it so effortlessly.

2. That this has to do with my failures with other people in general, presumably due to my not knowing quite where they are. I can usually figure it out in conversation, which is probably why my lecture classes fall agonizingly flat while discussion-heavy ones work out fine. Triangulation through discussion helps me see me too: I know I used to do my best thinking talking to someone.
