Kenyon College tops a recent list of the world's most beautiful college campuses. I haven't seen a large proportion of the world's universities (has anyone?) but the area was always special to me. You (not me, but you) don't associate Ohio with loveliness, but the autumn in that part is pretty much perfect. What's maple, autumnal about knowledge, I wonder? Just the association between college and the Northeast? And turning leaves rather than snow because of the power of first impressions, I suppose. Term One's the most memorable. By Two the scared, excited eyes have become those blase, knowing ones. Slightly amused, slightly irritated - the college kid look.

The first week generally provides me with the most entertainment value. The questions are a shade more clueless. The expectations are just a bit more warped.

Finals can sometimes compete, though. Everything is so important. "If I don't get this right now..." Combined with energy drinks, sleep deprivation, and poor social skills -- it can be very fun to watch.
