That sucks about Feingold.

The rest sucks too, yes.

Yes, it does.

My father and a colleague are downstairs celebrating right now.

Jesus.

Mrmf, but it doesn't suck particularly worse than expected. (I admit to being somewhat heartened by the prospect that, assuming good penmanship, Alaskans didn't vote for the most frothing candidate available. It's a sad day when I consider "doesn't want to deny abortions to rape victims" and "does not intensely desire to spray the Constitution with buckshot to see what happens" to be positive attributes, but, well.)

Yep.

But I remember pretty much the same thing (in this very household) in the midterm elections of 1994. This time it's more insulting, though.

What a dismal thing to wake up to.

60+ gain in the House is historic and they're going to yell the fact for a while. I suspect most of the other damage they'll cause could be tamped after 2012, but this is the most economically unschooled/denialist crop of legislators ever. If the Bush cuts get extended and a couple European dominoes go down...

I don't know, man, I hear a not-so-distant flushing noise.

In that vein, California heaved a sigh at 23 not passing. Though maybe not heaved, as 26 did pass.
