Harpers published a remarkably brave piece on AIDS and Duesberg in March (though it didn't mention the latter's name till halfway through, after anecdotes of malpractice murders; that's the state of things), available online here: http://www.harpers.org/OutOfControl.html

Well, this is in fact what I hate about Harpers -- tabloid journalism pretending to be responsible and scientific. I knew a Nobel Laureate who was a defender of Duesberg for a long time, and always cited by Duesberg and his supporters. He gave me pause. But eventually he came to think that Duesberg was wrong about HIV. The molecular biology of how HIV works is I think now sufficiently well understood that Duesberg's twenty year old objections are just no longer even relevant to the arguments. That said, I do think he's very courageous. Just wrong.
