I know election day's over sixteen months away, but re. Bush's latest numbers and various poll trials between various Democrat and Republican candidates, and especially, especially the Congress numbers:

A chore. I like the more digressive, essayistic chapters, but when something is supposed to happen in the story of hunting the white whale, I get bored.

Ha! Opposite of what you hear from most people. Abridged versions invariably cut the chapters on whale parts, navigation etc. I think I loved it all equally.
