Though maybe the it is a secularization sign. Seems more like a sign of resignation, but I guess secularizing lets you resign some things. Maybe it's like the Russians assuming that when you go capitalist you have to immediately whore, pimp and bootleg, that that's what it means. Or maybe it's like the Russians whoring, pimping and bootlegging just as before but enjoying no longer having to profess purity, piety.
I find it funny. Like a shimmering anagogue - or containing only its own existence and everything a Cohenesque Everybody knows but refuses to talk about. People who say this sound like they've sold maybe six of their children.
