Mar. 6th, 2014 10:51 amPizzolatto's coming out as a "beleaguered romantic" made me wonder where I'd heard the phrase before - presumably some self-descriptive passage by Bloom, but I couldn't find it on a cursory search. Still, you can see why I'd look; very Bloomian thing to say. And his fascination with the death-to-life school parallels how Bloom's clearly been affected by Leopardi's siren song in recent years. Come die, come die.
