Aug. 27th, 2015 01:14 pmShould add re. the princess flicks that I'm not sitting down and watching these - I'm in and out, or on my pad, or the volume's down or whatever. So I'm just getting the gist and scattered details. Noticed a new Mermaid one just now: the last gesture of Poseidon (?) is to create a rainbow over the ship in which Ariel and spouse are sailing sunsetward. "I promise to not flood the world again." Must seem so meaningless, so sticker-y, to those not catching it.
The chief benefit of my own writing dabblings, I think, has been to make me fully aware of how differently one looks at things that are present to the mind for a long time. Writing is like meditation cubed - you have to be a pretty stupid person to NOT find what you're considering reveal other dimensions of meaning. So many, in fact, that you've forgotten half of them yourself by the next day. But you put them there. You couldn't not, since they fit just right.
