Ridley Scott's forgiven for Prometheus and whatever the ten movies he did before that were. Counsellor got him halfway forgiven for like one of those, which is where Leftovers S1 has put Lindelof (one hears good rumors about S2, so maybe he's almost home, if we think of Lost's mostly early virtues and the-later-the-more vices as exactly cancelling).
Great year for amazing pop movies, between this, Inside Out and Mad Max. And Interstellar, for those who didn't hate it. I guess its pop was a little too easy and its nonpop content a little too hard to process concurrently? Whereas they were pretty damn seamless with these others. If we weren't carefully avoiding watching nearly everything, esp. w/ superheroes, I'd almost suspect some kind of Hollywood renaissance was happening.
