Sep. 30th, 2016 11:00 amAdventure Time is ending.
(In two years, and not counting an alleged movie.)
They made at least five of their best episodes this last year but at least twenty of their worst, so I guess it's true the show was aging. Porpoise one and that jaw-droppingly terrible guest-artist episode excepted, Adventure Time's worst isn't too bad though.
Seems like the kind of show that intense nostalgia could bring back soon enough, if the creators want it to come back. The Marceline miniseries seemed a bit like a test run for a spinoff, also. The spectre of Futurama looms, though. It was the most similar show - which isn't saying much. And it does seem like hilariousness, which AT isn't as invested in, is the quality hardest to bring back in reassembled writers' rooms. Or ones that stay together, for that matter.
