We resaw Inception because Julie didn't even remember seeing it. She liked it just as much.

Not much was clarified as the audio was fudged again - wouldn't have rented the damn thing if I'd known there were no captions, in fact.

Main new thing observed was that the second top-spinning scene is a failed one, since it gets knocked off the counter when someone interrupts DiCaprio, and this immediately follows the scene where he's using Yusef's opium den for dreamers to be with his wife. Maybe implying it's there that he leaves reality and starts his autoinception scheme? But he'd eluded the dreamlike attack by the Kobo people in a dreamlike manner, getting stuck then implausibly unstuck in a narrowing alley, just before meeting Yusef so who knows. Another planted ambiguity.

I also liked it, but still think it owes the superior eXistenZ a lot of its millions.

Not to mention an old DuckTales comic had a virtually identical plot: http://things90skidsrealize.com/2010/12/13/77/

yes .. but eXistenZ - back in the days when Mistah Cronenberg was still focused on making bestgood biological horror - was a visceral document, something you could nearly smell. these CGI-fests, on the other hand, can be disarmingly .. antiseptic. it is a challenge to draw a connection between screen-world and the messier one of our surrounding ..
