Deep Blue Sea: Damn! Davies, Weisz, Beale and Hiddleston sure get everything you possibly could out of the play. Not to knock Rattigan, the most appealing of minor playwrights, but they found deeps, hues and waters he probably didn't see there himself. Goes in my overachievement annals.

Take Shelter and maybe Poetry were a cut above, among the few recent movies I saw this year, but this one's at least as good as Winter's Bone, Martha Marcy May Marlene, and Cabin in the Woods.

Canadian Netflix is good at finding ways to just barely earn its keep. Must be a real art to that.

Recent Can'Flix: The Skin I Live In. Decent. Once saw that Spirit of the Beehive was being offered there, was taken down before I could get to it. (Queen Video instead.)

Loved Take Shelter. Did you see Cabin in the Woods on Netflix? ( I don't see it.) Worth it?

Dark day today. Fragments.

No, saw that one at a multiplex. It's about other movies, so not really art so much as an artfully scathing editorial.

Almodovar hasn't gotten to me since Talk to Her, but his films are always pretty.
