A lot more of these movies are available online than I'd have predicted; almost all, in fact. Another of the good things about living in the future.

Figured out where I'd heard the Amarcord theme before - that Tom Schiller-directed Gilda Radner black and white thing with the balloons.

I also realized looking around for The Mother and the Whore that I tried to watch it once. I'm kind of amazed I forgot a title like that. I don't know how far in I got, but I remember being very bored. Not looking forward to four hours of it, or the three Cassaveteses. But maybe my attention span could use some stretching - my free moments in December were mostly spent with Adventure Time.

Speaking of Cassavetes...

You know what's good? Mikey and Nicky. Cassavetes and Peter Falk, directed by Elaine May. I huge bomb when it came out, because it was sold as a comedy, which it isn't. But it's really good.

Thank you, I'll look for it.

.. a-and Minnie and Moskowitz is "fun" by Cassavetes standards.
