I think what I still might be missing is what people get out of comic characters who are terrible people
.. speaking of, watched Deconstructing Harry and .. admired the editing. not a W.A. "fan," but i woke up one morning and started watching his movies. maybe it's one or two per week. maybe it was the craphounding of Interiors in Maria Bustillos' Dorkismo that got me started. i do not know.
there's a story about a guy down in Patrick Springs, VA whose house is stacked with baseball cards to the ceiling / he's carved out a wee path to get from room to room. thing of it is, though, he doesn't like baseball. guy traces it all back to an evening when he went out into his yard to investigate a disturbance and .. there was a BRIGHT LIGHT .. and a spell of Missing Time .. and then the collecting began ..
maybe that's how it is with these Woody films / not sure if i actually enjoy them, but there's something compelling nonetheless (in Match Point the Director high-fives Dostoevsky throughout because .. Pat Highsmith isn't "highbrow" enough? who can say? perhaps a *strong Texas woman* - who spent half her childhood in Manhattan, hey - is too much). but, um, Missing Time? i don't *recall* any .. unless the past 20 years count ..
