My New Year's resolution is to watch that lengthy stretch of bad episodes in Twin Peaks season 2 in case anything in there's pertinent to the relaunch. No clue when I got through them last - maybe the '90s?

Have you watched Season 2 Ep 1 since then? 90 minutes long, directed by Lynch. Might as well be a feature film.

Yeah, the Lynch ones all rule. That's the first one I saw, also, so I remember it particularly vividly.

The giant's funny. I don't like that we're supposed to like that there's a giant, but I really like that giant. Lynch uses him really well in his second season 2 episode, too, and similarly in a way where it ought to suck and would on paper but somehow doesn't. Probably that's true of a lot of Lynch.
