Turns out Martin Scorsese is a major cinephile.

I.e. not much to see in Scorsese's Hugo. For videos, The Ward has some fantastic, almost Elizabeth Berkley-level bad acting from Amber Heard but is otherwise bottom drawer. Julie made me watch the last two Paranormal Activity movies but they bored the boiled jesus out of me. She knows they're inane but the cam-horror genre works on her. Horrible Bosses amused me much more than I'd anticipated - amused Julie rather less.

But Grizzly Man and Rescue Dawn are both great Herzogs.

Oh and we saw Blue Valentine and were kind of awed, especially by Williams. Couldn't quite tell whether Gosling is also a great actor or really that annoying. Julie said it didn't compare with Scenes from a Marriage, her favorite Bergman. I guess it doesn't but it sure was good.
