Though I think I overread it - I was convinced Dylan McDermott represented the Tea Party at the end.
The show as a whole isn't redeemed or redeemable, just finally a heap of silliness for people who get certain kinds of kicks, but someone involved had a bit of a vision that was allowed to gleam through now and there. Minear? He did cut his teeth on this kind of allegory back on the Whedon shows. Devolves into cheese pretty regularly. But the wonder is it can climb back out. You're suddenly shocked you care.
Can anyone match the charisma of Lange?
