I'm having trouble thinking of a better song than Pumped Up Kicks. I mean, obviously I know Albinoni's Adagio is better, that kind of thing, but among songs. And I don't mean the lyrics, about which I rarely care, and in this case don't really understand.

Maybe I'll burn out on it soon. But that bass - damn.

i don't know why the band chose to pair those lyrics, which seem to be written from the perspective of the columbine shooters, with such a groovy tune...in my case it does detract from my valuation. and i think mostly what i like about it is its similarity to peter bjorn & john's young folks. but it is groovy.
