Boardwalk Empire: no.

Game of Thrones: no.

Revenge: no.

Pan Am: was free on iTunes. No, but better than all the above.

Community: maybe - episode one wasn't very good, but it was at least painless. They tell me it gets better.

Ricky Gervais Show is delighting us again.

You can always draw me by talking about television. I'm abashed.

Community is good but it's never more than television. I liked Game of Thrones, but I think that's because I watched it with people who liked the books? And the show is better than the book, markedly, it's actually a masterful adaptation, so watching that scroll out was a pleasure, and sitting next to somebody pouring out of a bottle of rum altered with the legend We Do Not Sow, all of the things that were happening around the show were a delight, and I can't really imagine how laughably, self-regardingly turgid it would have seemed without them.

Game of Thrones is a show that requires yelling back at the screen, and not in a small company, you need a gang to face its gangs.

It was beautifully produced, as was Boardwalk, but that seemed a terrible waste given the inanity of almost everything happening. And I'm not against power fantasies of whatever kind but when nothing else is happening and you don't particularly share them they can be a bit sickening. I don't judge people for liking Game but it's not my freak, baby.
