Julie caught a flu. I couldn't say to her face that if she didn't let me sleep while she dealt sicklily with the night feeding and wake-up then we'd all suffer. So instead I handled them and now we're all going to suffer.
I'm too tired to work out the math of a correction properly, but it doesn't look pretty. I'll have to push forward 3 hours a night on Thursday through Sunday, then five hours Monday, then three Tuesday. This works best at a steady two per night. Three a night is usually doable but leaves you much more of a wreck. I don't know what happens if you throw in a five.
And this will all be attempted from a starting point of extreme tiredness, since I have to get up at 6 on Thursday to get to class on time. On top of present sleep debt which is considerable. Fuck.
When the dust settles I'll try light therapy again. Last time it just seemed to leave me sleepy all day but I've just read that that's the initial effect, and the bedtime "advances" (becomes earlier) slowly at first. Once it's where you're trying to put it you get peppy again. So I guess it was in fact working.
Maybe I could try it now? Only problem is if it doesn't work I'll have to start the correction from an even weaker position, and I'm not sure I'll be able to tell if anything's happened by Thursday.
One problem with trying to understand the specifics of my sleep problem is that I only read up on it when I'm really tired.
