People with two children and real jobs manage this how exactly?

Presumably by not having freakish forms of insomnia involving Gremlins-like rules.

.

A thought I had: Maddy gets to watch Lost someday!

Then: But it will break Maddy's heart.

For some reason both of these predictions are more vivid than similar ones about growing up or falling in love. Maybe because I'm not so sure about those, am amidships. Though presumably Lost is a different thing when it's not several years of your life. And when you don't feel connected to most of the rest of the world for going through all of it with you.

I wonder if the period it came out in affected it somehow too? Meaningfully, anyway? Probably not--it's more likely that it feels that way because of the weekly and for years drip of it. How its strands got tangled in with the incoming others.

For me, Lost was a perfect show for Internet fandom-- the only show I've ever spent real time reading message boards--the Buffy sites always bored me-- but it might have been a now or never kind of phenomenon for the decade it hit. Will there ever be a show like that again? I hope so.

Never got drawn into all that. But I drew, you know, diagrams.

Early daycare. And lots and lots of money. I have a cousin who started hers at six weeks. $15k/year. Not sure which is harder to imagine: parting at six weeks, or paying so much to do it.

Not quite sure what the not-so-much-money people do, but I suppose we'll likely find out in a year or so.
