I've never seen Stalker. Which is weird, because I like Tarkovsky's films Solaris and Ivan's Childhood, and I'm desperate to get my hands on Volodine's translation of the Strugatskii (sp?) brothers' L'Auberge de l'alpiniste mort. (which isn't the Stalker novel, that's Roadside Picnic, but I mean, Stalker keeps showing up in my peripheral vision, as it were.)
I'd also be happy to watch Late Spring. Or not exactly happy--I gravitate toward the grim and unsubtle, in the fictions I like, but it would be good for me to get over that tendency.
This comment is unnecessary. I'm just dilating on the choices.
