Walking Dead 7.15
Just idle surmising:
Who's the "little bird" that told Negan that Rick's people are up to something? Surely something more than the fact of Daryl's having gone missing?
1. Gregory? We see him deciding to leave in this episode, presumably because he's betraying Rick's group and his own Hilltop to Negan's lieutenant, but I suppose it's possible that he'd previously betrayed them and is just leaving now to let Negan know a critical point has been reached - and to remove himself from sight of whatever crackdown will ensue. Still hasn't been clarified if the tequila was a gift he'd received from the lieutenant or part of a case of it he'd found and was Thinking about giving to him.
2. Heath? Where is that dude. He didn't know the Saviors had enslaved Alexandria when we saw him last but he did know they'd slaughtered the outpost at the behest of Hilltop, so if he spilled to Negan then maybe Hilltop is being watched and Maggie et al. have been spotted.
3. Enid? The more time passes the less likely this seems, but a lot of time was spent making her seem like a spy/saboteur way back when. Is she from Saviorland?
4. Eugene? Technically he could have not betrayed anyone yet - he might be out to sabotage Saviorville like Rosita initially assumed, and may have even given Sasha a sleeping pill or something (which will cause some bad complications if she slips it in Negan's food or drink assuming it's poison). But if he did betray them maybe he betrayed them thoroughly.
5. Someone from the Kingdom? Seems unlikely. The named Kingdom people are mostly dead now, ans the rest have uncomplicated loyalty to their king and community.
6. The garbage people? Possible, though their leader seems amused by Rick and he keeps giving them guns. Not clear how they'd have opened a line of communication, either, since they've been hiding all this time, though ways could have been found.
7. The fact that all the roadblock cars had been moved shortly after Daryl's escape? Or did they end up moving those back after all after going through, like they'd planned?
8. I guess Dwight could have left an evil note.
9. Dr. Carson. He seems like a nice guy, but maybe they broke him fast.
10. People posted to watch Alexandria or Hilltop or the Kingdom from outside.
Dramatically, 1, 3 and 4 (Gregory, Enid, Eugene) are the promising ones - though 2 or 9 (Heath, Carson) would have surprise value if they've been planning to make us suspect Eugene and then pull the rug out from under us.
