Something the brain damaged student said in class today, a propos A Streetcar Named Desire:

"Stanley is Social Man but Mitch is Man Thinking, and women like Social Man better, it's evolutionary. But sometimes I think women look at Man Thinking and wonder, 'What is that man thinking?'"

It's all, of course, evolutionary.

True, but: the material shaped retains perhaps some features of its own.

half-baked analogy

What is that man, Man Thinking, thinking? Something of the same relationship obtains in... in what, I don't know, the world I picture you inhabiting. Aren't you at a university where your girlfriend learns to measure brains, and where they misdiagnose brain damage, and now apparently there is a brain-damaged student taking classes with you or from you.

Well, this needs more baking to actually become a witticism. But I serve it now.

If you want human thought in its raw form you should come meet that guy. No inhibition, never a coherent point. He gets excited about something and just starts in. Everyone came to hate him, at the sound of his voice rows of jaws tightened, heads fell onto desks, hair was mock torn. He seemed blissfully unaware, though at one point he broke off a particularly lengthy incoherent ramble admitting, "I have NO point." Everyone cracked up. The man thinking thing earned a couple chuckles, but only I was doubled over.

Baking attempt: What are these people thinking about "man thinking"'s thinking THINKING?
