Nov. 10th, 2010 01:29 amI came into the rooming house
With just a trunk and cough
And readiness to rest and rouse
And once again set off
They put me in room number one
A girl in silks lived there
They had
once she did what she done
To cut me from her hair
In two there was a lady stern
Who frowned me down to earth
But soon each other's joke we'd learn
And part all full of mirth
In three there was a living flame
Who blackened me inside her
When I was done you'd see a dame
Who wouldn't scare a spider
In four I had the law laid down
By rules dressed up as woman
By May so vast her eyes had grown
That you could fit the room in
Five I can't remember well
Nor her that dwelt inside it
But now my kneecaps hurt like hell
And now my mind's divided
Last I ended up in six
Where Agnes did me kindly
But Tom and Greta joined the mix
And in the hall I find me
I'm going from the rooming house
Now trunkless but quite coughless
If God had made me more the spouse
I swear I'd wander off less
With just a trunk and cough
And readiness to rest and rouse
And once again set off
They put me in room number one
A girl in silks lived there
They had
